The smooth feel of the wood finish is very pleasing, and the hand-painted detail is impressive. Their shape is slightly contoured which adds to the quality and design (not evident in all images) and the average adult animal stands 12 cm (4.75″) tall. All colours and varnishes are non-toxic.These wooden figures are quite durable but we must advise that, since these animals are made of wood, pieces can sometimes break and could pose a choking hazard for children under 3 years of age. That being said, our animals have survived through 3 children throughout toddlerhood and some serious play, with relatively few casualities. Again, very impressive!
