Hand-crafted in Montréal, Canada, the soap trays offer a minimal contact area which significantly extends the life of handmade soap and shampoo bars. Made from one piece of raw Western red cedar without glue, nails, or stains.

High levels of tannins and natural phenolic compounds make western red cedar highly durable wood and highly resistant to moisture and decay without any chemical treatment. Tannins are natural vegetable colorants found in tea, coffee, chocolate, and wine. Tannins may slightly stain your dish, soap, or countertops in the first few weeks of usage. Tannins are acid-soluble and can be cleaned by soaking your dish in a citric acid (or vinegar) and soap solution for a few hours. After a few soakings, the outer tannins will be leached out and will not stain your soap while inner tannins remain to provide optimum protection.
